On 12 & 13 July Bubble London opened its doors to the visitors. Team ShowStyleKids was present and here we give you our first impressions. And like from every fair we visit, we show you our favourite picks from the fair.

The entrance area saw a coffee bar by TOMS | The One for One Company : With every product you purchase, TOMS will help a person in need. At Bubble London, TOMS was selling its new fair-trade coffee and with each cup or Rasting Co. beans helping suply water to a peson in need.

A presentation with the nominees for the Rising Star Award. 14 new launch brands were going head-to-head for the Rising Star Award, which showcases and celebrates emerging design talent. July 2015’s Bubble Rising Star is luxury footwear label Little Lulu’s.

And here some of my favourite brands from this edition of Bubble London:

Holly Hastie  Beautifully designed clothes for little girls who love colour, quality and style from British clothing designer Holly Hastie.

Model my Own with customizable dresses for girls aged 3-10 years, flower dresses and accessories known as clipsy’s.

For Cuties Let’s look at the world through children’s eyes!  This is how the fairytale began with For Cuties. The designer, a mother got inspired by her daughter’s drawings and imagination, and decided to recreate them into children’s clothes.

Sissonne was born in Porto, Portugal, inspired in the perfect symbiotic alliance between modern design and elements from the past. Sissonne clothes are versatile and easy to wear in a contemporary-chic, romantic style for 3-month to 6-year-olds.

Second edition of KID Paris

The new trade fair in Paris, KID, delivered a second edition at the Bastille Design Center on Boulevard Richard Lenoir. In an intimate setting, press, buyers and other fashion professionals had plenty of time to see the great selection of brands on show.

KID is organized by fashion event director Anaïs Sidali, and artistic director Julien Pelgrand, and framed by a curatorial ethic, which favors quality over quantity. As Anaïs Sidali recalls about setting up KID: By plunging into the children market, I discovered an entertaining, playful, colorful world… I decided to give a great «vitrine» to the brands I love. My experience led me towards this idea of a fashion trade show with an edgy twist, that could promote young contemporary designers alongside established brands constantly seeking novelty“.

Great label from Taiwan: Once.
Versatil-e from Spain
KID is an innovative project, a cross between a showroom and a traditional trade show, dedicated to professionals in search of novelty in the children‘s market. The KID concept tells a story about fashion inspired by contemporary brands with strong identity. KID creates a new „rendez-vous“ for trade at the service of tomorrow‘s designers and shops. For its premiere in Paris, KID was providing a platform for outstanding products, with an emphasis on modern key values: style, audacity, attention to details and manufacturing control. KID will open its doors twice a year (end of January and beginning of July) and plans to develop on international grounds.

More brands and more buyers

Over 470 brands were present at this seasons edition of Playtime Paris. The fair was organized around the theme of "Movement". I saw a lot of returning brands but also quite some new ones! For this edition, Playtime Paris positined all maternity wear in seperate pavilions. So the main hall was dedicated to a wonderful curated selection of fashion and accessories brands and of course the trend installations. The trend spaces and events reflected the overall theme, and so did the wonderful energy of the show, during a period in which the children’s market is still fragile.

In spite of the scorching temperatures, Playtime’s quest to gather the most beautiful collections of the moment nonetheless managed to convince 6.256 professional visitors to pay them a visit with an increase of almost 10% in the number of buyers, in spite of a decrease in the number of overall visitors. This is a trend that is affirming itself season after season. This time there was a strong reinforcement of German visitors as well as more Russians. Next edition will be held 24-26, January 2016.
