Paris Fashion Week SS2015 - Womenwear ready-to-wear

23, September – 1, October 2014. Following New York, London and Milan, all eyes are on Paris this week! Around 90 shows will be presenting collections for next Spring/Summer 2015. Around 5.000 visitors are expected to attend the events by designers from 24 different countries.

Jean-Paul Gaultier says goodbye at the end of his fall-winter 2014-15 collection

The hottest show of the week will be expected on the last day by Jean Paul Gaultier and it will bet he very last ready-to wear collection of the brand after 38 years. In future the house Gauthier will focus on haute couture and perfume.

Among the week’s highlights: Dries Van Noten.

Dries Van Noten, the collection is inspired by the idea of John Everett Millais Ophelia (1852) and also by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Both reconcile the mythical fairy world with golden illuminated colours and fabrics with the woodland’s forest mossy floor. Van Noten and his team asked the Buenos Aires artist Alexandra Kehayoglou to weave a rug in all those mossy colours for the runway. There were block-striped silk, pajama patterns in filmiest fabrics, patched brocade and shimmering combinations of jacquard and Lurex; some glinting with metallic stripes.
At the finale, all models took a rest on the wonderful carpet. Hippie stylish – languid sprawling on soft mossy grass!

The new collection Winter 2012-2013 is - again - as spectacular as the designer herself. Anne Kurris was born in Antwerp in 1959. During her studies graphic design at the Royal Academy and St Lucas in Antwerp, she met Dries Van Noten, Walter Van Beirendonck and the other Belgian designers who where part of ‘The Antwerp Six’.
After graduating, Anne Kurris worked as a graphic designer for Dries Van Noten, for whom she designed the catalogues and invitations. She became art director of the fashion magazine BAM! and worked for major Belgian cultural institutes like the Flemish Opera in Antwerp and the Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels. In 1998 the Anne Kurris children’s wear collection was launched, inspired by pop art and nature, and characterized by bright color combinations and a strong graphic design. Today the collection is distributed worldwide. In 2009 Anne Kurris was invited to show her paperdresses in MOMU (Mode Museum Antwerp), part of the exibition PAPER FASHION.
Anne Kurris also teaches graphic design at the famous Fashion Department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp and Sint-Lucas Antwerp.
